Other restaurants have contacted me when i order gluten containing items for my girlfriends along with gluten-free items for myself. Still the fact that they didn’t do more leads me to believe that this isn’t a great establishment to go to if you have a gluten allergy or celiac. I of course didn’t do my due diligence because all of this information was on their website’s menu. They should’ve wrote their note on the gravy container or tried to contact me instead of sending the delivery off as is. Make sure youre not in a rush or visit on a weekday for a shorter wait. Called the place and asked about it, apparently they told the delivery guy to inform us about the gravy, but it was a no contact delivery. biscuits at Biscuit Head all topped the list. A tourist favorite and voted second best breakfast and brunch in Asheville by the readers of Mountain Xpress in 2021.

Anyway after taking my first bite of my gravy dipped biscuit I noticed on the receipt taped to the bag had "not gluten free gvy" written on it. The line moves much faster than it looks and no matter how long it is the food is 100 worth the wait. It was below freezing outside and we decided to wait because it certainly is worth it. I even put that I had a gluten allergy in the special requests section. Biscuit Head was great We were here the last time we were in Asheville and we had to go again.
There’s also no allergy info on said food delivery site's menu. I made the very wrong assumption that you wouldn’t be able to order gluten containing gravies with a gluten free biscuit since the gravy was selected on the same screen where you pick a gluten-free biscuit.

If you enjoy good home-cooked, fresh food, don't pass up on this place. Do this before ordering your food, so your car won't be towed! This is not a fancy, white table dining establishment, but rather a restaurant where you can enjoy true southern style food, based on delicious, huge, homemade biscuits, and your food is served in a tin bowl. It's $2 per hour, or you can retrieve a small card from the Biscuit Head order counter person, and instead of putting $2 in the slot, you put in the validation card, indicating you're dining at Buiscuit Head. If you choose the parking lot, enter the lot off the side street beside the restaurant, and each space will have a number that coincides with a numbered slot on a metal box on a pole in the corner of the lot toward the Heywood Road side. Parking is either on Heywood Road, or in a parking lot behind Biscuit Head. Several eggs benedict choices on the menu. My wife decided on one of their eggs benedict on biscuits, with two eggs over a chicken filet atop two large homemade biscuits, with the toppings, etc. We took left over biscuits home and enjoyed toasted in a fry pan the next day. There were biscuits also served with the gravy flight. The sausage gravy and tomato creole have a bit of a spicy bite to them, which I loved. I decided on a country ham biscuit, which was huge, and the best, tender, moist, country ham I've ever had, along with a flight of gravies, including red-eye, sausage gravy, and a tomato creole type gravy. Homemade jams, jellies, honey, etc in self-serve jars on a bar to the right of the order counter. Get your beer (local craft beers available), wine, adult beverage, tea, or coffee, and they will give you a number to place on the table of your choice. Upon entering, go to the counter in the middle of the restaurant to order. But you're going for the outstanding food. Not sure about the Biltmore Ave location, it's close to Mission Hospital. For the Heywood Road location, don't dress up, not that kind of place. Servings are huge, and the food is fresh and tasty. Everything is based on their thick, crusty, and delicious homemade biscuits. If you want to experience real southern, mouth watering, goodness, go to Biscuit Head at either of their two locations in Asheville, NC.
